Pay It Forward
After a long drive towards our final destination in Paducah, Kentucky, our missions group stopped for the night in Springfield, Missouri. We all slept well and in the morning awoke to a wonderful surprise. Some people from the church, where we had stopped for the night, had gotten up very early just to make us breakfast before we headed out for the final part of our drive. I still think of how nice it was to have a hot breakfast that morning. So, when New Covenant had a group of youth missionaries, from Iowa, staying at our church we decided to pass the hospitality on to them.
A few adults and students arrived at the church early this past Saturday morning and made breakfast for them, as they passed through Oklahoma. They were returning to Iowa after a mission trip in New Mexico. When we had finished preparing the food, we had the opportunity to sit and eat with them. We talked about their trip and and the different things that our youth groups do on mission trips, and it turned out that we were all very similar! And who knows, maybe someday they will have a mission team stop by their church, and because of someone blessing us in Springfield this past Spring Break, they too will have the opportunity to pay a blessing forward.
